Phaplu to Everest Base Camp trek is the classical and challenging trek in Everest region of Nepal. This 18 days trek takes you to the highest access point (5,545 m) at Kalapatthar. Kalapathar is the best Mountain View point in Everest region. Kalapatthar offers spectacular view of Everest (8,848 m), Cho Oyu (8,152 m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8463 m) Thamserku (6,506 m), Ama Dablam (6,456 m) and other snow capped peaks.

 

During Phaplu Everest base camp trek trail moves through Khari Khola, Paiya, Phakding, Namchebazar, Tengboche (famous monastery where once Tenzing Sherpa committed to become monk) Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorekshep, visit Everest base camp and destination point of our trekking Kalapatthar (5,545 m). After visiting some wonderland of Everest region trail descends all the way to Lukla(2,860 m) and you will fly back to Kathmandu.

 

September – December during autumn and February – June during spring are the best time of the year for Pikey Peak Trek. These seasons are known for wonderful weather and excellent views. Autumn brings happiness in Nepal as the major festival of Nepal falls in this season. Likewise, the spring is the time of joy with different flowers blooming around the entire country.

Day 01: Arrival and transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu Airport, our airport representative will welcome you and give you short info about Kathmandu and directly drive to the Hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 02: Sightseeing for a full day in Kathmandu Valley.

World heritage sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhu Nath, Boudha Nath, Pasupati Nath, etc. Preparation for the trekking.

 

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu – Salleri – Phaplu (2469m)

After breakfast, we will drive through scenic roads, passing Dhulikhel, Khurkot, Ghurmi and other diverse settlement of different cast system of Nepal. We will pass the beautiful pine and rhododendron forests, magnificent mountain ranges and reach Phaplu, were we will stay overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 04: Trek Phaplu – Nunthala Village (2194m)

Today the trekking route goes uphill and downhill walking through Local Sherpa Village where you can see and experience the Sherpa culture and Tibetan style settlements. You will enjoy the trekking trail and its splendid view of Numbur Himal. Every village has built its own ancient Buddhist monastery to signify the Tibetan Buddhism practice. After passing the Taksindu La pass, we start our descent and we will pass by mixed settlements of Shepra, Rai, Magar, Tamang. Arrive in Nunthala Village with its beautiful and large village.

 

Day 05: Nunthala – Bupsa Danda (2245mm)

Today we will start with an uphill climb and a walk on the dense forest, we have a chance to see Musk deer, Snow-leopards, jackal, white and brown monkey. The trek continues through the charming village of Paiva, and continue to Surke village.

 

Day 06: Bupsa Danda – Surke (2290m)

Today will be an early day. After breakfast we will start our trek towards Surke. You will have an uphill journey for the initial part of the trek, walking alongside mules carrying heavy basic supplies. From there, the trail takes you to Kari La, at an altitude of 2800m, from where you can see the valley at a full glance. After a couple of ups and downs and a forest you will reach Paiya. After that is downhill to Surke, a town known for its fertile land suitable for growing vegetation. The ground is damp, and the climate is cool. The town is located beneath Lukla airport. Enjoy local dishes and drinks served by the locals. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 07: Surke – Phading Village (2640m)

After a delicious breakfast, we will trek from Surke to Phakding village; passing the beautiful villages of Chauri Kharka, Thado koshi to then reach Phakding Village, where we can explore the beautiful Buddhist monastery and its typical Village. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 08: Phakding trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Today you will have your first encounter of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Tahmserku and many more on the Himalayas range. You will follow the yak trails and pine forest and arrive in Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 09: Rest day in Namche for acclimatization

Optional hike to Thame/Khumjung Monastery/Everest View Hotel. Namche Bazaar is popular with trekkers in the Khumbu region. The town has little coffee shops, a German bakery, many restaurants, and an Irish Pub, considered to be the remotest Irish Pub in the world. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 10: Namche Trek to Tengboche (3,680m).

Today’s trek begins relatively flat and easy-going, and then the trail goes downhill to Phunki Tanga on the riverside; here is where Buddhism was introduced into the Khumbu valley. We then ascend about 800m through pine forests to arrive in Tengboche. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 11: Tengboche Trek to Dingboche (4,400m).

Tengboche is the best place to view Mount Everest, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. Our guide will take you in the morning to The Tengboche monastery where you will be able to participate in a Pooja. We continue our descend through the Rhododendron forest, always facing the Himalayas mountain range, arrive in Dingboche and an overnight in a tea house.

 

Day 12: Acclimatize day in Dingboche

Optional Explore the Chhukung Valley and back to Dingboche

 

Day 13: Dingboche trek to Lobuche (4,900m).

As we have reached a high altitude area, our walk will be slower today. We cross the small river in Dhukla and the path goes steep up to Lobuche. You visit a Chorten, Mani stone and have a panoramic view of above eight thousand meters mountain. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 14: Lobuche-Gorakshep (5,100m). (Optional hike to Everest Base Camp)

You are on the Himalayan range. Gorak Shep is the initial base camp of Everest. Until 1950s climber set their camp at this place. Optional, a 3hrs hiked up to Everest base camp (5,360 m) and back to the tea house.

 

Day 15: Hike to Kala Pathar and trek back to Pheriche (4,250m)

Early morning start your trip to Kala Patthar for amazing sunrise at the closest proximity of Lhotse and Mt. Everest, with a view at the bottom of the biggest Khumbu glacier. After breakfast trek to Pheriche for an overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 16: Pheriche Trek back to Namche Bazar (3,440m).

Walking through the wide valley, it offers you great views of the Himalaya range. You will have a change to visit the giant Sherpa village and monastery along the way to Namche Bazar. Upon arrival in Namche Bazaar, you might have a chance to see the Trans Himalayan Market. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 17: Namche Bazar trek to Lukla

Even though you are trekking back the same trail but with a lot different views and the Sherpa villages will keep your mind busy. Overnight at a tea house.

 

Day 18: Lukla - Morning fly back to Kathmandu

Take a Mountain scenic flight over the Himalaya to Kathmandu. Arrivals and transfer to Hotel. The trip will conclude here. You are open for your wellness day in Kathmandu. In the evening, a farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant.

 

Day 19: Free day in Kathmandu sightseeing and shopping

One reserved day in Kathmanud if lukla flight might be cancelled.

 

Day 20: Kathmandu Hotel-Transfer to Airport (TIA)

After having the breakfast we will transfer you to The Kathmandu Airport with private vehicle for your final departure.
